# Copy Trading Guide

> Create a same-owner copy-trading group, choose a lead and followers, set risk multipliers, and understand independent follower checks.

Native copy trading coordinates orders across active challenge accounts owned
by the same Funding Perpetuals user. Each group has one lead account and one or
more followers.

## Before you start

Every account in the group must be active, unarchived, and yours. An account can
belong to only one enabled group. Evaluation accounts can follow either stage,
but a funded account cannot follow an evaluation lead.

<Warning>
  Follower accounts are locked against manual trading while their group is
  enabled. Manage the strategy from the lead account or disable the group and
  let cleanup finish before trading a follower manually.
</Warning>

## Create a group

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Copy Trading settings">
    Go to [Settings → Copy
    Trading](https://fundingperpetuals.com/settings?section=copy-trading).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the lead">
    Select the account whose eligible orders should be copied.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add followers">
    Choose active accounts that are not already part of another enabled group.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set each multiplier">
    Choose how much of the lead's balance-adjusted quantity each follower should
    use.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review and save">
    Confirm the group composition and save it before placing lead orders.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## How follower size is calculated

Opening and increasing quantities are normalized by the lead and follower
starting balances, then adjusted by the follower multiplier. `1×` follows the
lead's relative size; lower values reduce it and higher values increase it. The
available range is `0.1×` through `2×`.

Reductions preserve the fraction of the lead position being reduced. The
platform rounds copied quantity down to the market's size step rather than
rounding a follower into more risk.

## Independent follower checks

Every follower order is validated against that follower's own:

* available collateral and current positions;
* challenge and funded-account rules;
* market and position limits;
* allowed stage pairing and current account status.

A follower can reject or reduce a copied instruction without blocking the lead
or other followers. Copy trading is coordination, not a guarantee that every
account ends with identical fills or performance.

## Stop or change a group

Disable a group before changing its lead or deleting it. When a lead passes,
fails, or is closed, the group stops automatically: resting follower orders are
canceled, follower positions are closed under the platform's terminal-close
policy, and manual trading unlocks only after cleanup completes.

Stopped history remains visible until you remove it. See the
[Copy Trading settings reference](/settings/copy-trading) for control-by-control
details.
