# Trading Settings

> Configure order-ticket defaults, server-enforced execution protection, trade confirmations, and on-screen trading notifications.

[Open Trading settings](https://fundingperpetuals.com/settings?section=trading)

Trading settings define how a new order ticket starts and which safety prompts
appear. They do not override challenge rules, market limits, or the settings
already stored on an open position.

## Order Defaults

| Setting | Options | Effect |
| ------------------------ | ----------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Margin Mode | Isolated or Cross | Sets the starting mode for a newly opened position. Existing positions keep their mode. |
| Order Size Unit | USD or Asset | Sets the default quantity unit for non-Forex order tickets. |
| Forex Position Sizing | USD or Lots | Sets how Forex order tickets express size. One standard lot is 100,000 base-currency units. |
| Order Size Slider Range | 10%, 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% | Sets the largest account-percentage shortcut shown for opening orders. Reduce-only orders still allow 100%. |
| Forex Lot Slider Range | 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, or 100 lots | Sets the largest lot shortcut shown for opening Forex orders. You can still type another valid size. |
| TP/SL Gain and Loss Unit | Percent or USD | Changes how Take Profit and Stop Loss gain/loss inputs are displayed. |
| Clear Size After Order | On or off | Clears quantity after an order is accepted to reduce accidental repeats. |

## Execution Protection

### Max Market Slippage

Set the maximum adverse fill movement accepted for ordinary market orders and
individual position closes. The server enforces the saved value. A tighter
limit can reject more orders in fast or thin markets; a wider limit accepts more
price movement.

**Close All** retains its own protective exit limit so the platform can preserve
the emergency close behavior.

### Leverage caps

Set separate caps for non-Forex and Forex markets. A cap limits the leverage
available in your order ticket; it cannot raise leverage above a market's own
maximum. Leave the field blank to use the selected market's maximum.

### Warn Without Stop Loss

Turn this on to request confirmation when an order can increase exposure without
an attached Stop Loss. The prompt is a warning, not a rule: confirming can still
submit the order.

## Trade Confirmations

**Confirm New Orders** supports:

* **Never:** submit without this additional review dialog;
* **Market Orders:** review new market orders;
* **All Orders:** review every supported new order.

**Confirm TP/SL Chart Drags** asks before a chart drag places or moves a Take
Profit or Stop Loss order.

## Trade Notifications

Choose whether the app shows notifications for market-order fills, resting
limit/stop fills, Take Profit fills, Stop Loss fills, order changes, and TP/SL
changes. These are visual notifications. Configure audio separately under
[Notifications settings](/settings/notifications).

For workflow examples, read the [Trading Guide](/guides/trading-guide).
